Job Overview:
Express Employment Professionals – Brandon is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join a local flatbed transfer company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and trailer repairs, with the ability to perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of trucks and equipment.
Pay Rate:
?? $20 - $25 per hour (based on experience)
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a mechanic
- CDL-A is a plus
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs
- Strong knowledge of trailer repairs
- Must have a basic repair tool kit (all other tools will be provided; periodic tool purchases may be required)
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow a checklist of inspection procedures to ensure proper vehicle maintenance
- Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs
- Read and interpret diagnostic test results using dials, gauges, and computer equipment
- Use hydraulic jacks or hoists to raise trucks, buses, and heavy equipment
- Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and engines
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication
- Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components
- Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and electrical/mechanical components
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment and vehicle parts as needed
- Conduct final test drives to ensure repairs were completed successfully
