Pay Rate: $20.00–$22.00/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sewing Supervisor to oversee daily production operations in a sewing department that works with heavier materials using modern computerized Juki sewing machines. This role is responsible for supervising sewing staff, maintaining production quality and efficiency, training team members, and ensuring all work is completed safely and on schedule.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong sewing knowledge, production oversight experience, and the ability to support a team working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support sewing department employees in daily production activities
  • Oversee workflow, productivity, and quality standards to ensure deadlines are met
  • Train, coach, and assist sewing operators on proper sewing techniques, machine use, and quality expectations
  • Monitor work for accuracy, consistency, and overall workmanship
  • Troubleshoot sewing issues and provide hands-on guidance when needed
  • Ensure employees are using equipment safely and following company procedures
  • Coordinate with management regarding production schedules, staffing needs, and department performance
  • Help maintain an organized, efficient, and clean work area
  • Assist with evaluating sewing skill levels during the hiring process, including sewing tests
  • Work with computerized Juki sewing machines and support employees using modern industrial sewing equipment

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in a sewing, upholstery, industrial sewing, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience sewing heavier materials is strongly preferred
  • Experience with computerized Juki sewing machines or similar industrial sewing equipment
  • Strong understanding of sewing techniques, production flow, and quality control
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a production team
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and ability to maintain production standards

Sewing Test/Skill Requirements

Candidates should be comfortable completing a sewing test as part of the interview process. The sewing test consists of sewing a circle to demonstrate sewing ability, control, and accuracy.

Important: Candidates whose experience is limited to light clothing/apparel sewing only may not be the best fit, as this role works with heavier-duty materials and requires experience in a more industrial sewing environment.

Schedule & Hours

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Must not exceed 80 hours in a two-week period
