Front Desk Medical Receptionist
Location: Brandon, FL
Pay: $18.00–$20.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Job Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Front Desk Medical Receptionist for a growing behavioral healthcare practice in Brandon. This is a full-time, 100% in-office position and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
The ideal candidate has previous medical office experience, enjoys providing exceptional customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As the first point of contact for patients, you'll play an essential role in creating a welcoming experience while ensuring the office operates efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls while providing excellent customer service.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Check patients in and out, verify demographics, and collect required documentation.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations when needed.
- Collect co-pays, balances, and process patient payments.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR/EHR system.
- Respond to patient inquiries and coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff.
- Scan, file, and maintain confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with general administrative and front office duties to support daily operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–2 years of medical front desk or medical receptionist experience required.
- Behavioral health experience is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of medical insurance verification and patient registration processes.
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
