A Company in Carrollton is seeking a Sheet Metal/Duct Fabrication Tech I to support HVAC and duct installation projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sites. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals starting their career in the trades, with opportunities for growth and advancement into higher-level installer and sheet metal positions.
As a Sheet Metal/Duct Fabrication Tech I, you will work closely with journeymen and foremen to learn the fundamentals of duct installation, sheet metal assembly, safety standards, and blueprint interpretation, while contributing to the safe and timely completion of projects.
Must have:
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must Have High School Diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 Certification (or ability to obtain withing 90 days)
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal tools, duct types, and installation methods.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow detailed instructions.
- Safety-conscious with a willingness to practice proper PPE and site procedures.
- Punctual, dependable, and receptive, to feedback.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with hanging ducts, sealing joints, assembling fitting, and setting registers.
- Learn duct types(flex, round, rectangular), insulation, fasteners and materials.
- Identify basic issues such as air leaks, misaligned joints, loose connections, or airflow blockages.
- Perform basic duct sealing, cleaning, and resealing tasks.
- Understand how duct systems relate to pipe routing, condensate, and refrigerant pipping.
- Read and interpret simple layouts, duct routes, and installations sketches.
- Observe and learn damper controls, actuators, and basic system Components.
- Follow PPE, ladder safety, and OSHA safety requirements at all times.
- Record hours worked, track time, materials used, and basic installations details.
- Take direction from foreman, work effectively with team members, and maintain a safety-first.
Expected Hours: No less than 40/hours per week
Pay: $20.00+/ hour
