Our client in Iowa City is looking for a Front Counter Sales Associate!!
Our client in Iowa City is looking for a friendly and approachable Front Counter Sales Associate. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, assisting them with their buying, pawning, and selling needs both in-person and over the phone. Your exceptional customer service skills and ability to build rapport will help create a welcoming atmosphere in the store.
General Duties:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Address customer inquiries in-person and over the phone regarding pawned items, purchases, and sales.
- Evaluate items brought in for pawn or sale, offering fair prices based on market research and value assessment.
- Accurately conduct transactions, including cash handling, data entry, and record-keeping.
- Maintain a clean, organized sales floor, ensuring items are properly displayed and priced.
- Research items to determine fair market value and assist customers with selling or pawning their items.
- Provide customers with information on store policies, procedures, and promotions.
- Ensure a positive shopping experience with excellent customer service and follow-up communication.
- Work with team members to meet sales goals and maintain a cooperative work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle cash and perform basic math functions accurately.
- Proficient in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of jewelry, electronics, and collectibles is a plus.
- A warm, friendly personality with a passion for helping others.
Hours:
- Monday: 10am – 5:30pm
- Tuesday: 10am – 4pm
- Wednesday: Closed
- Thursday: 10am – 4pm
- Friday: 10am – 5:30pm
- Saturday: 10am – 3pm
- Sunday: Closed
Pay:
- Starting pay: $16/hour; $17/hour if you speak Spanish.
- Plus Commission
