Express Employment Professionals in West Des Moines is recruiting an Experienced CNC Machinist for an established manufacturing company in Urbandale, IA.
We're looking for a skilled machinist with hands-on CNC experience who can confidently set up and operate equipment, read blueprints, and produce precision parts. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines and other machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and adjustments
- Monitor machining operations and adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets as needed
- Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Inspect completed parts to ensure accuracy and required tolerances
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain production quality
- Perform routine machine maintenance and follow safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Work with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing standards
Job Requirements
- 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
- Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines
- Strong blueprint reading and mechanical skills
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Understanding of machining tolerances, tooling, speeds, and feeds
- Ability to independently troubleshoot machine and quality issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable attendance and ability to work independently or with a team
- CNC programming experience is a plus
