Maintenance Technician
Location: Waterloo, IA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM (2nd Shift)

Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support warehouse operations by ensuring equipment, machinery, and facilities are operating safely and efficiently. This position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, conducting inspections, and promoting a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, and warehouse infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
- Operate hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Assist with warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Follow and promote workplace safety procedures
- Support changing business needs and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial mechanical systems
- Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a positive work environment
- Ability to safely work at heights up to 60 feet while following fall protection protocols
- Experience with material handling equipment preferred; willingness to learn required
- Must be at least 18 years old to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts and hoists
