Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is now hiring a full-time Yard Driver in Franklin, KY for Day Shift: 4:00am-4:00pm and 8:00am-8:00pm and Night Shift: 6:00pm-6:00am and 7:00pm-7:00am start time. Pay Rate: $21.00. Interested candidates should have two years or more experience operating tractor trailers, including the spotting of trailers in congested areas
Responsibilities of the Yard Driver:
- Responsible for the positioning 53-foot trailers at the distribution center docks and shuttling loaded trailers to a designated location for pick up by OTR drivers.
- Safely and efficiently operate a yard tractor to maneuver empty and loaded trailers about the distribution center yard.
- Accurately follow radioed instructions in order to position specifically designated trailers to the proper door location.
- Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.
- Inspect yard tractor for damage or broken equipment.
- Report trailer damage or broken equipment.
- Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.
- Clean and tidy the yard truck and work area
- Such other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements of the Yard Driver:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Two years or more experience operating tractor trailers, including the spotting of trailers in congested areas
Physical Requirements of the Yard Driver:
- Lift 50 pounds
- Stand, bend, squat, and twist up to 12 hours
