We are currently seeking a reliable and highly organized Dispatcher to join our team in Port Allen, Louisiana. The Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating daily operations by managing schedules, communicating with drivers and customers, and ensuring efficient delivery and service execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and has strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule drivers, routes, and deliveries to meet operational demands
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Monitor vehicle locations and delivery progress to ensure on-time performance
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs, reports, and documentation
- Respond quickly to schedule changes, delays, or emergencies
- Provide drivers with route information, job details, and instructions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
- Assist with problem-solving and conflict resolution as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous dispatching, logistics, or transportation experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computers, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of local routes in and around Port Allen/Baton Rouge area is a plus
