Production Technician / Maintenance Mechanic – Baton Rouge
FULL-TIME
$22 / Hr.
Monday – Friday 6 am – 2 pm
Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Production Technician / Maintenance Mechanic for a local client in East Baton Rouge. A recession-proof company is seeking a long-term employee for an evaluation hire. Looking for long-term, career-minded individuals to grow with the company. Key Responsibilities
Production Duties
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished products.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Complete production documentation and reports accurately.
Maintenance Duties
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Assist with equipment repairs and installations.
- Inspect machinery and identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and maintenance records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and productivity.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1-3 years of industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or production experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments.
- Strong attendance record and commitment to safety.
Preferred
- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and production equipment.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Forklift certification.
- Technical school training or maintenance certifications.
