Express Employment Baton Rouge is seeking a skilled HTST Operator!
This position is responsible for properly and safely pasteurizing and homogenizing products in accordance with company, state, federal, and customer standards.
Pay Rate:
💰 $17/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily production processes and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure product specifications, including butterfat percentage, quality, taste, and freshness.
- Conduct testing for fat percentages, total solids, allergens, and freeze points.
- Direct product packaging for efficiency and communicate with filler operators.
- Maintain accurate records, including cut-in/cut-out and product temperature logs.
- Perform and verify CIP (Clean in Place) and COP (Clean Out of Place) procedures.
- Maintain equipment sanitation and troubleshoot processing issues.
- Operate and adjust equipment while ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain production efficiency.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out clearly, legibly, accurately, and maintained per SOPs.
- Report and take necessary action to prevent food safety and quality issues, as well as safety incidents and accidents.
- Follow all required work-safe practices, including GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs.
- Relieve coworkers in the department when absent.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
- All employees are responsible for food safety and quality.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in food processing or dairy industry preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and management skills – this position directs the milk flow for the entire facility. Nothing moves without the direction of this person, and they must be able to direct people and consider the whole team when making decisions.
- Must pass all medical exams and drug and background checks (including criminal).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
