Job Title: Debagger
Reports to: Production Manager Location: Baton Rouge
Position Purpose:
Properly and safely breaks sealed bags of bottles and manually removes products from the
bag to properly place them on the assembly line for production.
Job Summary:
• Safely cut open bags of jugs.
• Communicate with the Production Supervisor regarding the inventory of bottles and
the type of labels needed for production.
• Operate bagger and debagger stations properly and safely.
• Immediately seal bags of jugs and close pint bottle boxes after use.
• Monitor conveyor lines for damaged bottles and blockages.
• Monitor/check neck ID’s on quarts (qts) and half-gallon jugs and report any out-ofrange measurements to the Production Supervisor.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment.
• Maintain communication with other employees and management, and notify them of
any problems or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
• Analyze process and equipment performance data to improve quality, production, and
troubleshooting.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Consistently work to achieve goals that align with the company's strategies.
• Utilize a continuous improvement mindset and assist in identifying opportunities to
improve processes.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, completed,
and maintained per SOPs.
• Shall be responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food
safety and quality problems and safety incidents and accidents from occurring.
• Relieve other coworkers (in the department) if absent from work.
• Duties shall be performed by the Production Supervisor in the absence of the
Debagger.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
• Follow all policies and procedures, including GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs, at all times.
• Must wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Production Manager/Supervisor.
• All employees are responsible for food safety and quality.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience in food manufacturing or preparation desired.
• Must be able to work weekends and varying shifts (days, evenings, nights).
• Days off may be split.
• Ability to accurately record data.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must be able to work in a wet environment with some exposure to cleaning
chemicals, dust, gas, and fumes.
• Must be able to work in an environment where temperature is maintained at 35-
40 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
• Standing, walking, kneeling, and bending are required for virtually the entire shift.
• Be able to work in a team environment effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Must pass all medical exams and drug and background checks (including
criminal).
