Job Full Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Technician to join our client's team in Frederick, MD. The candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, as well as managing and servicing water treatment systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate has extensive plumbing experience, is knowledgeable about water quality regulations, and is capable of troubleshooting complex water system issues in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities: Plumbing Services:
- Install, maintain, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water, gas, and drainage systems.
- Interpret blueprints, building codes, and specifications to map out plumbing systems.
- Inspect plumbing systems for proper operation and code compliance.
- Supervise and mentor apprentices and journeyman plumbers
- Perform maintenance and repair work on well pumps, including troubleshooting, parts replacement, and system adjustments.
- Interact professionally with customers, explaining services
Water Treatment:
- Install, operate, and maintain water filtration, softening, and purification systems.
- Conduct water testing and analysis to assess quality and identify treatment needs.
- Ensure systems meet EPA, OSHA, and local regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot water treatment equipment and recommend corrective actions.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance:
- Maintain required certifications and stay up-to-date with changes in local plumbing and water treatment codes.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
Customer & Project Management:
- Provide clear communication to clients and team members regarding project timelines, work scopes, and system performance.
- Prepare cost estimates, material lists, and service reports.
Qualifications:
- Valid Master Plumber License in Maryland.
- Certified Water Treatment Specialist or Technician (e.g., WQA, state-issued certification).
- Minimum 5–7 years of plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in water treatment systems.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, hydraulic principles, and water chemistry.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Backflow prevention certification.
- Experience in commercial/industrial water systems.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring or digital water treatment technologies.
Working Conditions:
- Field-based work, including indoor and outdoor environments.
- Occasional after-hours or emergency service calls.
- Lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment and tools.
Requirements:
- Previous residential and commercial Water Treatment Process Experience
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work on construction sites
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with water treatment systems and well pump components is advantageous
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to water treatment and well systems or plumbing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and perform tasks that may involve bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
