Job Full Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically adept Analytical Service Technician to support our client’s technical services team. This hands-on role focuses on servicing high-performance laboratory instruments such as UPLC, FPLC, and spectrophotometers. If you have a knack for troubleshooting complex systems and a solid foundation in computer hardware/software, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair analytical lab equipment to restore full functionality
- Perform software updates and system maintenance across Microsoft platforms (Vista to Windows 11)
- Rebuild or replace mechanical components and parts as needed
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with documentation standards
- Provide occasional on-site and remote technical support to clients
- Ensure equipment meets calibration and performance standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as UPLC, FPLC, and spectrophotometers
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware/software troubleshooting and updates
- Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems (Vista through Windows 11)
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to disassemble and reassemble complex instruments
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience working in regulated lab environments (GLP/GMP)
- Familiarity with brands such as Waters, GE Healthcare, Thermo Fisher, or Agilent
- Understanding of calibration procedures and quality assurance protocols
