Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team, specializing in shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have experience handling inbound and outbound freight, verifying shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role requires proficiency in forklift operation and a strong attention to detail to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods within the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Label and document received goods and ensure proper storage in designated areas.
- Pick, stage, and prepare products for outbound shipments according to shipping schedules.
- Maintain organized and clean shipping and receiving areas.
- Verify shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle checks as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a shipping/receiving environment.
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with inventory systems and warehouse management software a plus.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced warehouse setting.
- May require extended periods of standing, bending, or lifting.
