Job Title: Maintenance Worker II (Helper) — Residential Work Orders

Location: Baltimore, MD (Multiple Sites)
Job Type: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 3:30 PM), with occasional urgent/emergency assignments
Pay: Starting at $21.03/hour base + $6.31/hour fringe benefits (per contract wage requirements)
About the Role
Express Employment Professionals – Timonium is recruiting Maintenance Worker II / Helper personnel to support a large-scale, labor-only residential maintenance work-order contract across multiple properties in Baltimore City. You will work as the helper on a two-person crew, supporting a lead Maintenance Technician to complete a high volume of repair work orders in both occupied and vacant residential units. All repair materials are supplied by the client.
Responsibilities
- Support the lead Maintenance Technician on a two-person crew to complete assigned work orders
- Assist with general maintenance and repair tasks, including:
- Carpentry support (patching, trim, hardware, cabinet/shelf work)
- Painting/surface restoration, caulking, and finish work
- Flooring and tile repair support, re-securing loose flooring
- Doors, windows, and hardware repair support
- Appliance and fixture install/reset support
- General site cleanup, material staging, and punch-list support
- Help stage tools, materials, and equipment; assist with transporting supplies between units and sites
- Support completion of the crew's minimum daily production quota of fully completed work orders
- Sign in and out daily at the management/maintenance office; wear required contractor identification/badge
- Interact professionally and respectfully with residents; protect resident property and minimize disruption
- Report property damage, resident concerns, missing materials, or safety issues to management immediately
- Support urgent/emergency assignments as authorized
Qualifications
- Prior general maintenance, handyman, or construction labor experience preferred
- Working knowledge of basic repair tasks (painting, drywall patching, flooring, general fixtures) a plus
- Comfortable working in occupied residential settings with professionalism and discretion
- Reliable personal transportation to travel between multiple Baltimore City sites
- Must supply own hand tools and PPE
- Strong attendance record — dependable, on-time attendance is critical to this contract
- Ability to work closely with and support a lead technician on daily work order assignments
