Our client is a trusted leader in the die casting industry, supplying precision-machined components for automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications. We're seeking a dependable and skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to keep our equipment running efficiently and to support production by troubleshooting both mechanical and program-related issues.
 
This opportunity will work second shift at the Stevensville MI facility.  Working hours are from 6am to 2 pm Monday – Friday. 
 
Position Overview:
As a CNC Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing CNC machinery used to machine die cast parts. You’ll also play a critical role in diagnosing and debugging CNC programs to ensure consistent, high-quality output and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Debug and edit CNC programs (G-code/M-code) to correct operational issues, ensure toolpaths are running correctly, and optimize machining cycles.
  • Collaborate with programmers, machinists, and engineers to resolve recurring program or process issues.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, technical drawings, and CNC code.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records of program changes.
  • Follow all safety standards and ensure compliance with company maintenance procedures.
Successful candidates will have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of CNC maintenance experience, preferably in a die casting or high-volume machining environment.
  • Working knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of G-code/M-code and ability to make minor program adjustments on the shop floor.
  • Proficient in diagnosing both mechanical failures and program-related errors affecting machine operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with machining challenges unique to die cast parts (e.g., irregular surfaces, thermal expansion).
  • Experience with robotic systems and automated machining cells.
