**Location:** South Haven, MI
**Schedule:** Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
**Pay Range:** $16 – $22 per hour (based on experience)

Our client designs and builds high-quality machines for the food processing industry. They are expanding their team and seeking a skilled Welder / Mechanical Assembler to support fabrication and assembly of custom machinery.
Position Overview
The Welder / Mechanical Assembler will focus on the mechanical side of machine building, including fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding. This role requires strong hands-on skills, the ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality, reliable equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG/TIG welding on steel and stainless steel components.
- Assemble hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Fabricate and fit metal parts for custom machinery.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and assembly drawings.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, and drills.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure assemblies meet safety and performance standards.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly required.
- Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with shop tools, fabrication equipment, and measuring instruments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
