STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Location: Grand Rapids, MN
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000/year, competitive and based on proven experience
Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established local company to hire a Staff Accountant. This role is responsible for a wide range of accounting, financial reporting, pricing analysis, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling both routine accounting tasks and time-sensitive deadlines.
Qualified candidates will have proven experience in accounting management or relevant field.
Key Responsibilities
- Post and review general ledger transactions
- Maintain daily and weekly accounting spreadsheets
- Assist with month-end close and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements for management review
- Update and maintain budget tracking spreadsheets
- Maintain customer pricing records
- Process new customer setup (credit checks and documentation)
- Review credit card statements monthly
- Enter recurring expenses and rent payments
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Assist with inventory audit preparation
- Support compliance documentation (licenses, excise tracking, insurance, 1099 support)
Qualifications
- Bachelor or master degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 6+ years of accounting or finance experience required
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting and month-end close
- Proficient in spreadsheets and accounting systems
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organization
