Job Summary:
As a Shipping & Receiving Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that inventory is tracked accurately and all shipments meet customer requirements.
Shift Options:
First Shift: Monday to Friday, options include:
- 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Alternative Shift Option: Monday to Thursday from 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare required paperwork and package parts appropriately using correct shipping methods for customer shipments.
- Reference the “Customer Requirements” Book, customer purchase orders, and internal job routing.
- Check the current delivery schedule and ensure parts are shipped to meet customer requirements.
- Create and print packing lists, assemble necessary documentation for shipments.
- Package items securely to prevent damage during shipment and arrange shipping methods as necessary.
- Dispose of completed paperwork and maintain accurate records of all shipments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma; GED or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with planning and consideration for shipping timelines.
- Strong commitment to continual process improvement and personal skill development.
- Positive, cooperative, and self-motivated mindset, with a courteous attitude towards colleagues.
- Willingness to train and work collaboratively with other associates.
- Forklift experience required.
- Familiarity with inventory systems, BOM & MRP experience, and cycle counting is essential.
- Epicor experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous shipping or precision machining job shop experience.
Working Environment:
Non-climate-controlled setting that may involve physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 30-50 lbs). Casual atmosphere where you can listen to music via one earbud while working.
