Job Summary:
As a Welder-Fabricator, you will complete metal projects that match client specifications. You will choose materials, select gas ratios, and perform various cuts and welds. This role also requires you to interpret blueprints and follow safety protocols while assisting in the maintenance of the shop's inventory and cleanliness.
Shift Options:
First Shift: Monday to Friday, options include:
- 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up MIG and pulse welders.
- Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and square levels for precision.
- Work with sheet metal, tube steel, channel, I-beam, and plate steel in fabrication.
- Position, align, and fit components together using fixturing; bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts accurately according to blueprints and specifications.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, assessing and evaluating situations as needed.
- Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in welding or a similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in your work.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering documents.
- Excellent problem detection and solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Welding certifications or relevant training is preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is advantageous.
- Use various precision measuring equipment to check work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Follow all cleanup and housekeeping procedures diligently.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to operate hoists, cranes, riggings, and trucks for moving equipment.
Working Environment:
Non-climate-controlled setting that may involve physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 30-50 lbs). Casual atmosphere where you can listen to music via one earbud while working.
