Maintenance Technician
Shift: 1st Shift
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Pay Range: $34 – 37/hr DOE
Position Overview:
Our client is a global leader in specialty materials. The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions that connect, protect, and purify our world. They are seeking two experienced Maintenance Technicians to join their 1st shift team in Minneapolis, MN. This hands-on role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery and mechanical systems to ensure consistent, efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial equipment and facility systems as well as possess a proactive approach to maintenance, keeping detailed records and work efficiently to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that manufacturing processes are maintained in a preventative fashion to ensure optimum reliability and up time
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and troubleshoot problems while applying theory and related knowledge to install, rebuild, or repair equipment as needed
- Troubleshoot mechanical devices while in operation by listening to sounds to locate issues as well as start devices to test their performance
- Adjust functional device parts and control instruments
- Repair or replace defective parts, lubricate and clean machine parts
- Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
- Initiate purchase orders to ensure all required tools, parts and supplies are available for each job performed, complete required service records and be responsible for recommending and/or initiating equipment modifications and/or replacement of components
Responsible for understanding, maintaining and troubleshooting:
- Analytical process troubleshooting including mechanical blueprint reading and using troubleshooting manuals
- Troubleshooting machine pneumatic, hydraulic control, pump and general mechanical problems
- Working ability with all hand and power tools; e.g., saws, drills, planers, pipe bender, pipe threader, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (college, university or technical school)
- 3+ years’ experience and/or training
- Contribute in a team environment to meet our business objectives
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Certifications in: Sheet Metal/Fabrication/Machining (drill press, saws), Welding, Blueprint Reading, Rigging Procedures, Vacuum Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatic Components, Servo Repair and machining (Plasma CNC, Milling, Lathing)
