Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Status: Non-exempt / Production
Salary: $21-23/hr.
Shift: 1st Shift Mon - Fri 7AM - 4:30PM
Job Summary: Perform maintenance on mechanical/electrical equipment and on physical plant.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repair duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
- Maintain appropriate records as instructed by supervisor.
- Keep current on preventive maintenance schedules.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance, as necessary.
- Welding duties, as needed.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Assists Supervisor in training functions as directed.
- Ensures security and proper use of company equipment, tooling, and supplies.
- Adheres to all safety standards and procedures, and maintains an ongoing
awareness of safety for self and others in assigned work areas.
- Participates in company sponsored training as required.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
- Understand how to identify problems and trouble shoot heavy machinery.

Qualifications:
- Some mechanical maintenance experience. Working with high voltage furnaces, gas quenches, and motors.
- Must have ability to test fuses, work with hand tools, power tools, and meters.
- Ability to follow directions and work efficiently. Must communicate well with supervisors and peers to complete work safely.
Working Conditions: Factory environment, may encounter dirt, dust, oil, processing chemicals and varying temperatures. Confined spaces and working outdoors.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Considerable amount of walking and bending
