Batch/Mixer Technician
Express Employment Professionals – St. Paul, MN is assisting a small manufacturing company to fill a Batch/Mixer Technician position on their team. Position is located in the South metro.
Pay: $25 – 28/hour DOE
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday – Friday 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Summary: The Batching Technician is responsible for accurately preparing, mixing, and staging raw materials for production in accordance with company recipes, GMP standards, and food safety requirements. This role ensures all batching activities are executed safely, efficiently, and consistently to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Batch Preparation & Mixing:
- Weigh, measure, and blend raw materials following approved formulations and batch sheets.
- Operate batching/mixing equipment and verify proper functioning.
- Ensure all ingredients meet quality standards and are staged properly.
Lot Tracking & Documentation:
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all ingredients used, including lot numbers, for full traceability.
- Accurately complete production records, batch sheets, and inventory transactions.
- Follow GMP, SQF, HACCP, and other food safety/quality protocols.
Equipment & Safety:
- Set up, operate, and clean batching tanks, mixers, pumps, and related equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and report maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, chemical handling, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Performance simple maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks such as gasket replacement, rebuilds, etc
Collaboration & Efficiency:
- Work closely with production, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure timely batching.
- Communicate variances, shortages, or quality issues immediately.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for batching efficiency and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical batching preferred.
- Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read and interpret batch sheets, SOPs, and safety instructions.
- Forklift certification or willingness to train preferred.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus.

Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to raw ingredients, and cold temperatures
- Variety of shifts and hours may be required
- Requires lifting, bending, and use of batching equipment.
