Key Responsibilities:
Perform rigging tasks to safely move steel pipes and components using slings, chains, hoists, and cranes.
Use grinders and other hand tools to clean, smooth, or prepare surfaces for painting or coating.
Apply industrial coatings and paints to steel pipes according to specifications.
Assist in the coating process, ensuring uniform application and proper drying/curing.
Perform general clean-up of work areas, including sweeping, debris removal, and equipment cleaning.
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support machine operators and other skilled tradesmen as needed.
Report equipment issues, hazards, or safety violations to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Familiarity with basic hand and power tools (grinders, sprayers, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfortable working in a loud, hot, and physically demanding environment.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow instructions.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if required.
Work Environment:
Steel fabrication/production plant.
Exposure to noise, dust, paint fumes, and hot surfaces.
Required use of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
