Safety Technician - OSHA 30 Certified (contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of manufacturing operations, equipment, and work areas.
• Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents, injuries, or near-misses, and help implement corrective actions.
• Maintain and organize safety documentation, including OSHA logs, MSDS/SDS, training records, and inspection reports.
• Monitor employee adherence to safety protocols and provide real-time coaching or feedback.
• Participate in and occasionally lead safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and new hire safety orientations.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other applicable regulations.
• Maintain, inspect, and calibrate safety equipment (e.g., eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, PPE, gas monitors).
• Assist with emergency response and preparedness drills and activities.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3–5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards
• Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, or investigations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• OSHA 30 Certification

Preferred:

• First Aid/CPR certification
• Experience with lockout/tagout (LOTO), hazard communication and PPE assessments
