Residential Electrician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Residential Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components in residential buildings. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and code standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, fixtures, and systems in residential settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical code specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems using appropriate testing devices.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC).
- Perform upgrades to electrical panels and systems as needed.
- Install lighting systems, circuit breakers, smart home devices, and backup generators.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
- Communicate effectively with homeowners to explain issues, options, and estimated costs.
- Ensure a safe work environment by following company safety procedures and using proper PPE.
- Collaborate with contractors and other trades during renovation or new construction projects.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of residential electrical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments (e.g., crawl spaces, attics, ladders).
Work Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor residential job sites.
- May require standing, bending, or lifting for extended periods.
- Flexible hours, may include evenings or weekends depending on client needs.
- Use of hand and power tools.
