Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and components used in the production of our marine deck equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing within a manufacturing environment and must be proficient in QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Source and purchase materials, components, and services required for manufacturing marine deck machinery (e.g., winches, windlasses, reels, etc.).
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information in QuickBooks.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to ensure material specifications and timelines are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to avoid shortages or overstock.
• Evaluate supplier performance and develop strategic relationships.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role, preferably in marine or industrial manufacturing.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
• Familiarity with materials and components used in marine deck machinery is highly desirable.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
