Job Full Description
Key Responsibilities
Perform repairs, rebuilds, modifications, and assembly of railroad freight cars and components.
Conduct AAR inspections and complete repair documentation in accordance with AAR billing standards.
Perform interchange repairs using a variety of hand, pneumatic, hydraulic, and powered tools.
Operate equipment including grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, cranes, and forklifts.
Follow all quality assurance procedures and company safety policies.
Interpret work orders and complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
Promote safe work practices and assist in training or mentoring coworkers when needed. #2606MS
Qualifications
Industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Valid driver's license.
Physical & Working Conditions
Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Position may require responding to emergency or unexpected operational needs in a 24/7 operating environment.
Must follow all safety procedures while working on, around, or beneath railcars.
