Shop Technician
Job Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a dependable, experienced Shop Technician to join our used-car dealership in D’Iberville. This position will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and preparing vehicles for sale.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on individual who takes pride in quality work, can diagnose mechanical issues, and understands the importance of getting vehicles retail-ready.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical inspections on incoming used vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform oil changes, brake work, tune-ups, cooling-system repairs, and general maintenance.
- Replace batteries, belts, hoses, filters, lights, and other components as needed.
- Perform suspension, steering, and exhaust repairs.
- Inspect vehicles for safety and reliability before they are placed on the sales lot.
- Perform used-car reconditioning and make-ready work.
- Test-drive vehicles to identify mechanical or drivability concerns.
- Communicate needed repairs and parts requirements with management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Use shop tools and equipment safely and properly.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Assist with other shop and vehicle-preparation duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive repair experience preferred.
- Dealership or used-car reconditioning experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Own tools preferred, but not necessarily required.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
