Job Description:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator for a local industrial manufacturing facility in Bay St. Louis, MS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and industrial safety practices. This individual will play an important role in promoting a safe work environment, preventing workplace injuries, and ensuring employees follow established safety procedures. #2606MS
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs and procedures.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct employee safety orientations, training sessions, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain safety documentation, inspection reports, training records, and incident reports.
- Work with management and department supervisors to address safety concerns and improve workplace practices.
- Assist with emergency response planning and safety drills.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety awareness and reduce workplace risks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy production safety role.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Ability to develop and deliver safety training to employees.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with management and production teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
Additional Information:
- Must be comfortable working in a heavy industrial production environment.
- Must be able to spend time on the production floor conducting inspections and addressing safety concerns.
- Must be flexible and available to work overtime as needed.
- Experience with safety reporting, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives is highly preferred.
- OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
