Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair the company's fleet of diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and support equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of transportation operations while minimizing vehicle downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel system issues.
- Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles comply with DOT and company safety standards.
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering components, and other vehicle systems.
- Utilize diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot vehicle performance issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and parts inventory reports.
- Respond to emergency roadside service calls as needed.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and light body repairs when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with drivers, transportation supervisors, and fleet managers to identify maintenance needs.
- Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Must be able to pass both background and drug screenings
