Position Overview
As a Water Mitigation Technician, you’ll be on the front line of helping customers recover from water damage in their homes or businesses. You’ll handle everything from water extraction and equipment setup to demolition, cleaning, and documenting the job. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent customer service during stressful situations.
What You’ll Do
- Perform water mitigation services including extraction, drying, containment, and cleanup.
- Set up, monitor, and take down drying equipment.
- Remove damaged materials such as flooring, cabinets, and drywall.
- Document job progress with daily logs, work orders, and photos.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and teammates.
- Load/unload vehicles with tools and materials; maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Participate in scheduled training and earn industry certifications.
- Perform additional duties as directed by Crew Leader or Manager.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in water mitigation, mold remediation, or fire/smoke cleaning.
- 1+ year of carpentry or related construction experience.
- IICRC Certification required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and work in tight spaces (crawl spaces, attics).
- Comfortable working in varying environments (water, mold, smoke, sewage).
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Able to pass background check and drug screening.
- Availability for overtime and rotating on-call shifts.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Regularly lift/move up to 40 lbs., occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Work performed at customer properties with exposure to water, mold, smoke, or fire damage (PPE provided).
