Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain manual and/or CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Measure and inspect parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred
• Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role
• Knowledge of machining processes, tools, and materials
• Experience with CNC programming/setup (preferred but not required)
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
• Ability to lift up to [50 lbs / specify weight]
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Work Environment

• Manufacturing or machine shop setting
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
