Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Material Handler for a box and pallet supplier located in Buffalo, NY 14206. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity!
Payrate: $20.00/hr
Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:00pm
Job Duties:
- Load and unload materials
- Put inventory away in proper locations
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
- Transport materials to different locations within the facility
- Secure loads to the machine before transportation
- Inspect for damage to vehicles
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner while adhering to production schedules
- Operate and manage technical equipment
- Exchange propane tanks on the back of the lift when it is out of gasoline
- Restack lumber when piles are knocked over or need adjustments
- Assist team members in the yard and on the floor as needed
- Special projects as assigned
- Comply with company policies and safety guidelines, as well as identify workplace hazards
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facility
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Forklift experience is required!
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and basic computer entry.
- Strong communication, a team-player attitude, and the ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
