Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking Concrete Finishers who can work on the military bases Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point in Havelock. Must be able to travel. The Concrete Finishers will be responsible for the forming, placement, and assisting the finishing of assigned concrete, carpentry, and general projects. The individual must have a strong work ethic and skilled experience.
Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday only
Skilled Labor
- Assist with the senior concrete finishers
- Edge concrete, tool joint, broom finish concrete
- Rake and level concrete for straightedge personnel
- Operate concrete saw with no assistance
- Grade and level base for concrete slab
- Cut concrete Slab
- Assist with forming
- Work in team environment
- Remove concrete Slab
- Mix concrete
- Pour concrete
- Carpentry knowledge preferred
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3 to 5 years cement experience and/or carpentry experience
- Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to edge, tool joint, and broom concrete with no assistance
- Be able to receive and follow direction
- Strong work ethic
- Physically fit, can bend, kneel, squat and lift a minimum of 35lbs.
- Tolerate working in hot environments
- Some experience/knowledge of construction or working on construction sites (Preferred)
Additional Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and able to meet military base background check requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Must be willing to work as part of a team with others on projects
- Ability to work independently and take direction as needed from supervisor
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and carry boxes 50 pounds on most projects. Must be willing to stand for long periods of time bending, stooping, twisting, reaching overhead.
