Job Full Description
Now hiring for a 1st Shift Packer to work for a plastic fabrication company in New Bern. This is a non-climate controlled position.
Work Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, Some Saturdays are required
Pay: $14 hourly, Temp to hire
Responsibilities:
- Inspect all parts coming off machine to be packaged. If a defect is found, notify production lead or quality lead immediately. While adjustments are being made, go through three cycles of already packed parts. **If you're trained-single cycle but nothing else.
- Package parts for shipment in the required manner. All packages should be neat, straight before securing to pallet. Once container is full and secure put in designated storage area assembly boxes as needed for parts that are running.
- Every cart and box must be tagged with pre-printed labels filled out before being put in inventory.
- Perform any tasks delegated by the production lead during your shift.
- Gauges should be used to check quality (one per every stack)
- During the end of the shift, clean up production area for next incoming shift. Up to but not limited to--taking out trash, using a floor squeegee, shop vacuum, and broom with a dustpan.
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively and use a pallet jack.
- Must be able to push/pull 375lb carts on casters from production area to storage area.
- Use hand dolly to move parts from production area to storage area.
- Walk, bend, and squat for an 8-hour shift (2-10 minute breaks and 1 thirty minute lunch per day)
- Must be able to work Saturdays if scheduled.
- Must be able to meet background check and drug testing requirements.
