What Positions are Available?

The Sugar Beet Harvest ground operation is generally comprised of three main roles:

Helper/Sample Taker: Collects beet samples and assists the Piler Operator in cleaning and maintaining the area. Helper will also communicate with drivers to ensure the safe and accurate unloading of trucks.

Piler Operator: Maneuvers piler control switches, orchestrates repair work and supervises and assists in the cleanup of daily operations. (Limited Positions)

Skid steer Operator: Places deep freeze pipes and helps clean and maintain the pile area. (Limited Positions)

Foreman: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the piling site. (Limited Positions)

**Skilled positions such as Foreman, Skid steer, and Piler Operator are assigned based on skills and availability. These positions are finalized by American Crystal Sugar or Sidney Sugars and communicated through Express.

This job requires the ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 25 lbs. You must be able to bend, stoop, shovel, and climb around heavy equipment up to several times a shift. In addition, you must have the ability to be on your feet regularly. This includes walking on slippery and uneven surfaces. This job requires the ability to perform essential job tasks in less than favorable conditions at times; which may include varying temperatures, humidity, wind, and cold.
