SLITTER / PRODUCTION HELPER
Pay: $19.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Position: Long-Term Opportunity
We are currently hiring a Production Helper to support operators in a manufacturing shop environment. This position will assist with the operation of slitting machines and help ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist operators with setup and operation of slitting machines.
- Transport and prepare materials for production.
- Check coils according to work orders, including width, thickness, and coil identification.
- Assist with machine setup and adjustments.
- Perform basic calculations and measurements according to work orders.
- Inspect steel strip for surface and edge quality and report any issues.
- Assist with feeding material through the production line.
- Apply strapping and assist with unloading finished coils.
- Change scrap materials and keep necessary production supplies stocked.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Follow all safety procedures and inspect equipment as required.
- Report equipment issues, defects, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks when instructed and properly trained.
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Steel industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and work with measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and production instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
