Material Handler - Plastic Injection Molding
Location: Piqua, Ohio
Shift: Train on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM), then transition to 3rd Shift (Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Pay: $19.50/hour during training on 1st Shift; $22.50/hour on 3rd Shift after training
Job Summary
Express Employment is seeking an experienced Material Handler for a plastic injection molding facility in Piqua, Ohio. This role is responsible for supplying production equipment with raw materials, transporting finished goods, operating forklifts and material handling equipment, and maintaining efficient production flow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport raw plastic materials, pallet boxes, and production supplies between warehouse and manufacturing areas using a forklift.
- Move finished goods to shipping and warehouse storage locations in a timely manner.
- Organize and manage scrap materials, skids, cardboard, and other production-related materials throughout the facility.
- Shrink wrap, label, and prepare finished product pallets for shipment.
- Record and update raw material lot numbers while maintaining accurate production documentation.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and maintain a safe, clean work environment while following established workplace standards.
Required Qualifications
- Recent experience in a Material Handler and/or Forklift Operator position.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of continuous material handling experience.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete production records.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work overnight shift schedules after training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or plastic injection molding experience.
- Experience working with shipping, receiving, inventory movement, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment such as balers, grinders, loaders, dumpers, or dryers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility during the shift.
- Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and forklift traffic.
- Ability to move and handle production materials as required by the position.
