Building Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Express Employment is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for a 1st shift opportunity in Piqua, OH. This role is responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities through preventative maintenance, minor repairs, groundskeeping, event support, and general facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on building systems, fixtures, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Maintain grounds through mowing, trimming, landscaping, litter removal, snow removal, and seasonal cleanup activities.
• Support facility operations by setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, staging, and equipment for meetings and events.
• Operate and maintain maintenance and grounds equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, and hand tools.
• Respond to maintenance requests, facility concerns, and emergency repair situations as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six months of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, grounds maintenance, construction trades, custodial work, or a related field.
• Ability to safely perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow safety procedures and work orders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift.
