Job Summary: The Check & Straighten Technician is responsible for inspecting and ensuring aerospace sheet metal parts meet strict engineering, dimensional, and visual standards. Using specialized tools and techniques, this role plays a critical part in correcting and straightening components to exact tolerances, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect aerospace sheet metal parts for flatness, contour, and conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

  2. Utilize specialized forming tools, templates, and fixtures to correct and straighten parts to exact tolerances.

  3. Collaborate closely with the forming and quality teams to ensure all parts meet dimensional and visual standards.

  4. Interpret blueprints and military specifications to guide work processes.

  5. Adhere to all safety and quality procedures within a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Expected Results:

  • Operators or lead personnel review work order documents to determine correct procedures for producing quality parts.

  • Customer requirements are identified and adhered to, ensuring satisfaction with completed jobs.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting instructions, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, lead-based tools, and specialized forming materials.

  • Adherence to safety rules and processes in manufacturing environments.

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in tasks.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing is required.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or machining environment.

  • Familiarity with hand tools and forming tools is essential.
