Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PLC Technician to join our manufacturing maintenance team. This role focuses on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, troubleshooting, and repair of all manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will also have strong skills in electrical systems, motor controls, automation equipment, and power transmission systems. In addition to PLC responsibilities, this position performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks to ensure maximum production uptime.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley preferred).
  • Design, install, and modify control panels, electrical circuits, and machine wiring.
  • Program and debug Allen-Bradley PLCs using ladder logic and other software tools.
  • Analyze current manufacturing equipment for automation upgrades and process improvements.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain motor drives, sensors, and electromechanical systems.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on plant switchgear, electrical panels, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with electricians to complete facility-wide electrical maintenance.
  • Maintain a log of barrel and screw inventory, changes, and throughput for extrusion equipment.
  • Safely operate within all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Escalate issues outside skill scope when additional resources or expertise is required.
  • Execute preventive maintenance and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
  • Complete other electrical and mechanical duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; OR equivalent certifications and formal training (e.g., Fundamentals of PLCs, Troubleshooting PLC Systems).
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial PLC systems, electrical systems, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in Allen-Bradley PLC logic programming and motor drive systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, ladder logic, and control panel wiring.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
