The Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring essential machinery to produce and package a variety of belting products, with opportunities for career progression through three levels. At Level 1, the Operator runs punch presses and assembly machines, inspects drive belts using motorized stations, and packages finished products using semi-automatic coiling machines. They ensure quality standards are met through visual inspections, caliper measurements, and adherence to work instructions, while also supporting continuous improvement efforts and maintaining a clean, organized work area. At Level 2, responsibilities expand to include setting up punch and assembly lines for various belt types, operating ground round equipment, and performing more advanced quality checks and machine adjustments. Operators at this level also load rotary let-off tables, split belts to final width, and perform statistical audits. Level 3 Operators take on more complex tasks such as loading materials into ovens and rotators, preparing reinforcement fabrics, operating mixing pots, and managing urethane casting systems. They monitor production quality using micrometers, maintain casting equipment, and handle post-curing and storage of finished goods. Across all levels, Operators are expected to follow environmental, health, and safety protocols, report hazards, and maintain proper documentation. A high school diploma or GED is required, with experience ranging from three months at Level 1 to three years at Level 3. The role demands attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
