The Pellet Mill Operator/Packager is responsible for operating equipment that forms feed ingredients into pellets and packaging finished products according to company standards. This role ensures product quality, efficiency, and safety in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate pellet mills and associated machinery to produce animal feed pellets
Monitor temperature, moisture, and consistency of pellets throughout the process
Perform minor equipment adjustments and routine maintenance
Package finished feed products into bags, totes, or drums
Stack, seal, label, and palletize packaged goods
Keep accurate records of production batches, weights, and material usage
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols
Assist in inventory management and raw material staging
Communicate issues or downtime to supervisors promptly
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery safely
Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks regularly
Attention to detail and quality standards
Previous experience in feed production, manufacturing, or packaging is a plus
Forklift expereince is helpful but not required
