Job Full Description
Job Duties: The General Laborer in a foundry supports daily production operations by performing a variety of manual tasks related to metal casting, mold preparation, cleaning, and equipment maintenance. This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments.
*Prepare molds and cores for casting processes
*Pour, load, or transport molten metal as needed (under supervision and following safety protocols)
*Remove finished castings from molds and perform cleaning operations (grinding, chipping, sandblasting)
*Operate basic machinery or hand tools such as grinders, hammers, or air chisels
*Assist with materials handling including moving scrap, sand, metal, or molds
*Perform visual inspections of molds and castings to identify defects
*Maintain a clean and organized work area
*Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
MUST be flexible to work any shift (day and night), 6-7 days/week, up to 12 hour days. VERY hot environment. MUST have steel toes & metatarsal guards. Long sleeves/jeans.
