Fire Protection Designer (AutoCAD/Revit/BIM – NICET Certified)

Knoxville, TN | $41,600 – $62,400 annually (based on NICET level)

About the Role

We are seeking a Fire Protection Designer to join our team in Knoxville, TN. This role reports to the Design Manager and will focus on designing and coordinating fire sprinkler and special hazard systems. The right candidate will be NICET Certified (Level I–IV), detail-oriented, and skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM Coordination, and HASS Calculation Software.

Compensation

• NICET Level I: approx. $41,600 annually (~$20/hr)
• NICET Level II–IV: up to $62,400 annually (~$30/hr)

Pay is directly tied to your NICET Certification level and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, code-compliant CAD/BIM design drawings for fire sprinkler & special hazard systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, flow tests, and system layouts using HASS Calculation Software.
• Create stock list drawings for fabrication and maintain as-built documentation.
• Manage project schedules, deadlines, and design tasks with minimal supervision.
• Attend project and coordination meetings as needed.

Required Qualifications

NICET Certification (Level I–IV in Water-Based Systems Layout) – REQUIRED
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM Coordination – REQUIRED
Hands-on experience with HASS Calculation Software – REQUIRED

• 5+ years’ experience in the Fire Protection field.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA Codes & Standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and project documentation.
