Customer Service Representative – Manufacturing
Job Summary
A manufacturing company in Tennessee is seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to manage customer orders, prepare quotes, coordinate timelines, and maintain communication between customers, sales, scheduling, and production. This position plays an important role in delivering an accurate, responsive, and effortless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive customer orders, prepare quotes, and review information for accuracy.
- Enter sales orders and verify pricing, order minimums, lead times, and product requirements.
- Review open-order reports daily and communicate any changes in expected completion or delivery dates.
- Coordinate with sales managers, scheduling, production, and shipping to meet customer requirements.
- Create accurate shipping releases to support on-time delivery.
- Process customer returns and credits while providing timely follow-up.
- Resolve service and product-quality concerns by clarifying the issue and coordinating an appropriate response.
- Maintain customer files, tooling or die information, and sample-tracking records.
- Prepare sales analysis reports.
- Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships that support retention and future sales.
Qualifications
- Two-year college degree preferred.
- Two or more years of customer service experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Strong customer-facing, written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage changing priorities, and solve problems under pressure.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and logistics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Excel.
- ERP experience required; QAD experience preferred.
- Estimating experience is a plus.
- Strong conflict-resolution and collaboration skills.
- Ability to perform calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
