Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking applicants for a PM - Quality Control position for a local Winnsboro, Tx company! We are a full-service Staffing Firm where we work with companies in East Texas that have full-time, part-time and temporary. Since we cannot guarantee placement, there is no fee for using our services!
In this role, you will:
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections of parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, fabrication processes, and finished products
- Conduct part inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Inspect incoming raw materials and purchased materials for compliance with specifications
- Document and identify materials by heat number and maintain accurate inspection records
- Verify steel fabrications meet approved shop drawings by checking dimensional accuracy of parts and assemblies
- Visually inspect welds and identify defects or quality concerns
- Document and report all non-conformities found during inspections
- Communicate inspection findings with management and shop floor employees in a professional manner
- Recommend corrective actions for ongoing quality issues and assist welders in correcting deficiencies
- Help ensure all products meet customer, company, and industry standards
We like to hear from candidates with the following:
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication practices, procedures, and quality standards
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and specifications such as AISC and AWS
- Experience performing weld inspections and dimensional inspections
- Ability to work independently with strong initiative and attention to detail
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, squares, and weld inspection tools
- Comfortable working around fabrication machinery, weld areas, forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes
- Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shop for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
