Job Title: Accounting & General Office Assistant (Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire)
Schedule:
- 39 hours per week
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting and general office operations. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with full-time hours and excellent long-term benefits, including a 401(k) plan for full-time employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update financial records and customer information
- Post receipts and payments
- Prepare bank deposits
- Contact customers regarding past due invoices
- Assist sales with credit and sanctions checks for new customers
- Verify invoice accuracy and distribute to customers
- Review vendor invoices, resolve discrepancies, and prepare payments
- Provide remittance information to vendors as needed
- Maintain customer and vendor information files
Requirements:
- Experience with Microsoft Windows / Office
- Proficiency in Sage50 or similar accounting software
- Background in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and capable of handling a variety of tasks
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills
